I don’t have any great philosophical statement to make about why I create my art.  I paint what I like and make a comment on in my interpretation of the subject matter.   Whether it is in a satirical style,  or a more realistic style I prefer to paint themes involving human behavior: not necessarily showing how people think they are,  but how I see them.  I also occasionally paint industrial and cityscapes you will see many such paintings painted in the season of winter which is my favorite time of the year.  Brings back a lot of great childhood memories when I was growing up in my home town Dohna, Germany and the USA.

I like to paint the old factories where people have worked.  Some of them now closed down, and some altogether no longer exist bulldozed down to make way for the new.  All the old memories gone,  but I have them on my canvas reminds me of when people where a lot different then they are now,  they appreciated the simpler things in life, they knew and helped their neighbors  and they worked hard.

The colors, the textures, and the form all add to the beauty of the painting. I think a good painting makes people think, or conveys a particular feeling or emotion. It’s a visual comment that should incite the art of conversation.

Some of my artistic comments are politically or socially motivated, but they are based primarily on what intrigues me at that particular moment in time.

Ted I did this sketch of British artist and dear friend "Ted Veillard" from life,  when he came to visit me in Germany.  He is an excellent painter and sculptor,  I have known and worked with him on projects for many years.
